“What Social Media should I use? “ That is a question I get asked a lot. And there is no standard reply.

In fact it will differ for everyone who asks me. There are a lot of factors to take in. One of the most important basic ones are.

  • Do I like this medium?social-twitter-box-blue-icon
  • Do I think my target audience will use this medium?
  • How much time do I have

So we will delve a little deeper.

My mentors told me to find a way to market that I actually like. That is why I do very little offline marketing. I am a very shy person actually. And I feel much more comfortable interacting with people online.

When it comes to Social Media, I use Facebook most because I know and like Facebook a lot. I use Google+ the least as I don’t enjoy that. It is as simple as that.

Next to that it is important that your target audience is actually using the medium you have chosen. I can spend hours a week marketing on Facebook but if nobody sees it, it will be a total waste of time.

So post once a day, a few days a week or every week, but try to keep that up. And make sure that you will be able to reply to comments promptly.

It may be an idea to just start with one and see how that goes. If you have more time you can then add another medium if you find that you really like it. Do some research and then get started.
